Ideal Transcription Rates to attract our Ideal Clients

As you might know, we’ve been experimenting with our transcription rates for some time now and we’ve come to the conclusion that you attract your ideal clients with your rates. If you rates are low and cheap, you generally attract the wrong crowd.

In the outsourcing world of transcription, there are many places online to outsource your transcriptions cheap. Dirt cheap. And, we don’t even want to mention them on my blog, do we? $10 for an hour of audio?!!

The problem with attracting the wrong clients is not only that the rates are low, it’s more because we won’t have the energy or time to build this business if we keep on serving the Wrong Clients. They are draining! They consume more time and energy on the while than serving your Ideal Clients.

We did not get into this small business venture to have another JOB. We are trying to run a business – a sustainable and profitable business that grows. A business that can help many more people.

We don’t need hundreds of clients. All we need is a couple of our ideal clients. Clients who know what we stand for. Clients who appreciate our work and our time. Most importantly, clients who appreciate their own time and quality services.

For that reason it’s all the more important to set my rates higher to attract my ideal client.

Our NEW Standard Transcription Rate is $1.25/audio minute. That is, $75 per audio hour.

Now, I’ve been thinking about attracting and working with my ideal clients and customers for some time now. I have tasted the wonderful feeling of working with ideal clients with people like Chris Guthrie of MakeMoneyOnTheInternet.com and Pete Tormey, a US attorney. Well, Pete even went as far as to say, “Your level of service is excellent. It was a pleasure to work with you because of your high level of responsiveness.” And, Chris said,“Carey is perfect.”

I didn’t do anything different for these clients that I did for my Wrong Clients. In fact, I spent more time and effort on my Wrong clients. That’s why it’s vital to work with your ideal clients. It makes your life so much richer knowing that you make others happy with your work and you’re making enough to be able to forward to better days.

Now, the new rates are more inline with our philosophy for our business. I’ve realized for some time now that you gotta get paid your Ideal Rates to build your business and that can only happen with your ideal clients. Our ideal clients are the blood of our business. Without them we have no chance.

We have been fortunate enough to work with successful bloggers, attorneys, students and entrepreneurs for the last couple of years. And, we want to continue serving people who understand what we stand for.
